Ella Hartel

Kia Ora, my name is Ella and I am a 19-year-old student at the University of Canterbury, studying Criminal Justice. In my spare time, I love playing football and getting out and about with my friends. I have over a year of professional experience working with children, having spent my gap year last year working full-time. I worked as a support teacher at Redwood Early Childhood Centre and as a coach for Little Kickers Canterbury. Additionally, I have done lots of casual babysitting. Within these roles, I was fortunate enough to work with a variety of ages from under 1s through to 10-year-olds. I also had the opportunity to work with children from many different backgrounds. These experiences have provided me with invaluable knowledge about childcare and behavior management. I absolutely loved my time working with both of these groups, which has inspired me to take up a job as a Nanny this year while studying. I believe I am well suited for this role due to my patient nature, adaptability and natural affinity with children. I have a very creative and imaginative spirit which I find beneficial when working with children. I find it super rewarding knowing that I can contribute positively to their lives and play a role, no matter how small, in their journey of development!
