Emma

Hello! My name is Emma, I’m a 3rd year student at the University of Otago, studying a Bachelor of Arts and Science in; Psychology, Sociology and Māori. I have had the privilege of working with children for more than five years with various babysitting and nannying positions as well an 8 week placement in early childhood education which lead to casual employment as a relief teacher. I have experience working with children from as young as 8 months old to 13 years old. I recently completed work in Youth mental health, working to support individuals with mental illness and adverse behavioural disorders. This was a challenging position but was equally enlightening and rewarding. I have loved all these rolls and have ultimately been inspired to focus on, cognitive and functional behaviour throughout development, within my studies. I am an outgoing, friendly individual with a passion for supporting others! I love singing, cooking and ceramics. I love coming up with fun and entertaining activities to participate in with the kids in my care. Ultimately I’m just a big kid at heart.
