Hi, my name is Ruby!
I’ve been working with children for most of my life, starting babysitting at a young age. At 14, I became a horse-riding instructor, teaching children aged 5–16 for four years. This gave me valuable experience supporting children of different ages, personalities and abilities.
I then moved to Christchurch for university, where I completed a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management. During my second and third years, I worked part-time as a swim teacher at Selwyn Aquatic Centre. I taught children aged 2–15, working with a wide range of ages, abilities and confidence levels.
As part of my swimming experience, I also taught private “Waves” classes for children with physical or intellectual disabilities, as well as children who needed additional support to progress in the water. This experience taught me the importance of patience, adaptability and tailoring my approach to suit each individual child.
I would describe myself as friendly, outgoing, honest and caring. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and love coming up with fun activities to keep them active, engaged and entertained!
I would love the opportunity to meet you and your family and provide your children with fun, caring and reliable support. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you feel I could be a good fit for your family.
